I agree. I'm just watching Liverpool and you have top stars like Firmino and Salah knocking their pans in defensively and, whatever your level of talent, these guys set an example in terms of giving 100%. Mallan is way short on commitment. I'm sorry to criticise an injured player but we need a team who will fight all over the park. This is up to the player and the coach.

They talk about a manager losing the dressing room. Yesterday, Heckingbottom lost the terracing. Our best player and he takes him off preferring Mallan! Really poor decision and then he has the cheek to slag the fans. This coach is clearly not fit for purpose. I must admit to having doubts from the start when he started all that rubbish about needing to get information into the players. What an insult to them never mind the champions league coach who preceded him. Poor recruitment by Leanne.

Let's be honest, apart from Scotty Allan, who was signed before he came, Hecky's signings are uninspiring and show a real lack of flair and ambition. If this translates into performances we'll struggle. Thankfully the Jambos are doing no better. Would Tony Mowbray have signed any of these guys?

I've been at all three pre-season games and supported Hibs for over 50 years so I'm entitled to my view. I hope I'm wrong.

Mate pre season is pre season with the focus on fitness and trying out different things i.e formations and players in different positions. I’d rather it didn’t work now so the problems are ironed out for the start of the season.
Surely you can’t judge a manager on three pre season games and that’s exactly what your doing.

We have been playing teams from lower leagues and have now had 4 inglorious results. Performances have been atrocious and none of the new signings are showing any talent.
If we are serious about challenging for Europe then players from the likes of Scunthorpe and Forest green are not going to take us there.
This seems to be a case of an English manager who thinks the English league 2 is on par with the Scottish Premiership. Well it is nowhere near it.
Lennons last 3 signings came from Serie A, Portuguese premiership and the Scottish champions.
Only one remains, Scotty Allen who is the outstanding player in the team, The other two are gone and have been replaced by no-hopers. We could have got much better from within the SPL for less money.

Sadly, this analysis is correct. The new players are not the right type and not of the right quality. I hope Hecky realises this and takes remedial steps quickly because I still think he can be a good manager. He seems to have a good spirit in the camp and the players look in better nick than in recent years. The club needs to get behind him and invest. Our target market needs to be at a higher level.

I do agree with you to an extent however there is gems out their. Gary Hooper went to Celtic from Scunthorpe, John McGinn st Mirren, Ivan sproule institute amateur team.
Hibs should be cherry picking that’s for sure. Having said that I do agree the performances haven’t been good enough. I think the manager came in and stedied a sinking ship so for that reason I’ll give him time.
I’m really hopeful these players are stepping stones to better things.

Hibs boy go lay down in a darkened room. Have you actually seen league 2 in the raw? Bet you haven't. I have and I'd rather watch St Johnstone v Ross County etc any day. You have to be on the windup. As for money? It didn't do Chesterfield much good. Cracking new 10k seat stadium sitting nr empty while they struggle to get back into the league. One of many ex league 2 clubs feeling the heat financially.

A worrying lack of backbone and discipline in the team last night. The defence has been criticised all season and I think this is justified. Lewis, for all he has been a great servant, really looked badly out of his depth and the others weren't much better. For me, McNulty is a total waste of space. What an absolute idiot and his brainless behaviour apart, he was otherwise completely anonymous in the game. A passenger. He can bugger off sharpish. Really hard to take and i wasn't convinced that Jack Ross got that after the game.
Big re-building job needed over the summer and a real test of Ron's strategy. All things depend on getting it right on the park. 100% improvement needed for cup-tie.

Stevenson well past his best now and all he does is give away possession with his long ball every time. Agree that McNulty was daft with his stamping and will get a retrospective ban but he can score goals for us. We need two good defenders, right and left sided, as well as a solid centre half and we'll not be far away from a good side.

I sincerely hope Hibs don't appoint a manager who has a record of failure. This is stating the obvious but football clubs seem happy to perpetuate a lack of success. It's easy to see that the best Hibs coaches of late have been hungry and untested. I've heard Scott Brown getting mentioned. Lennon you say - but he was at a failing club at Bolton it wasn't him who failed.

But the ones doing well don't come cheap and require budget assurances, secondbottom was on a 3 yr deal which impacts the budget for a new guy ie not in a job is easier its just like for like wage wise.

If PH isn't a gonner after that then things are bad at Easter Road. Every single player he has brought in has been a step backwards. Leanne is obstinate sometimes but she desperately needs to eat some humble pie for the sake of the club. Our best mangers in recent years have been hungry largely untested coaches. Stubbs would be given a hero's welcome but something makes me hesitate. I think they should look at Broon.

Do we need to keep saying it. This coach is hopeless. It's not personal - he's a nice bloke - but he has nothing to offer our club. If you listen to him and Stockdale it is clear they have no vision or tactical nous, and are clearly unable to get the best from the players. The transfer window has been an absolute disaster and for Leeann to defend it so robustly is worrying. A whole department had failed to function. It's not what the new owner needs at this stage but he needs to act otherwise we'll be back in the Championship before you can say Terry Butcher! Why did Lennon go exactly?

Hibee Bob, l agree more or less with everything you've said. When Hecky first arrived l had every confidence in him but l couldn't get my head round what he meant by feeding the players information and getting the right information into them. What was that all about? Was he trying to get the players to adapt to a new system rather than playing to a system which utilised the best of the players individual abilities.

The problem with Mallan is that he starts well and then drifts out of games. Every game this happens. We need players who give 100% so I would let him go. When did he last score from a free kick by the way.

Agree Stubbs should be given another go. Obviously has his flaws but he created a cup winning team out of nothing and his teams always played the right way. Leeann will be reluctant to admit her mistake recruiting PH.
